Lawyer transfered from minimal security prison camp
to federal prison in another state.

A prominent lawyer with a 24 month sentence was originally placed in a prison camp.  However, because this person had not learned the rules of prison ahead of time, he made a mistake that altered his entire experience.  As a result of his mistake, he was first placed in the "hole" for several months, then shipped to a higher security prison for the rest of his term.
Within weeks of arriving at prison camp, this person had what he thought was an innocent conversation with a prison staff member.  The prison staff member interpreted the comment as an attempted bribe.  The inmate was immediately placed in the "special housing unit," a secure detention facility, where he languished for three months.
Because of the serious nature of the infraction, the prisoner was not permitted to return to the camp.  Instead, the prisoner was sent to another state where he will spend the rest of his term in a higher security prison.
All of this could have been avoided if this person had spent time learning about prison life prior to his arrival.  Now his prison experience will be much more harsh and punitive than if he had known the rules.
